We are currently hiring for a Project Manager: Sustainability.

Reporting to the Managing Director, in Toronto, this role is responsible for managing sustainability deliverables for real estate development and public policy projects of various sizes, types and complexity. As the main client contact, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to provide innovative research, planning, design and development advisory services to enable projects to achieve their sustainability goals.

Specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with and lead design teams to integrate and achieve high-performance and sustainable buildings and community objectives
  • Provide regenerative design advisory for new communities and high-performance buildings
  • Facilitate, promote and participate in integrated design processes
  • Facilitate green building certifications, such as OPL, LEED, Green Globes, BOMA BEST, WELL, Envision
  • Manage the delivery of a broad range of sustainability and analysis services required for different projects, including energy modeling, life cycle assessment and resilience
  • Provide technical support and guidance on sustainability related concepts, strategies and design, such as site-related issues, stormwater management, rainwater/greywater harvesting, water use reduction, envelope thermal performance, high efficiency building system, renewable systems, waste management, material selection, thermal comfort, ventilation and indoor air quality, daylighting, health and wellness
  • Collaborate with client staff, client principals, architects, engineers, contractors, industry representatives and construction trades
  • Develop clear and concise written, visually compelling, reports that demonstrate understanding of the client’s needs and objectives and clearly convey technical information and recommendations to meet those objectives
  • Contribute to proposals and client management activities
  • Provide technical leadership to both internal and external teams
  • Contribute to the knowledge and professional development of employees in the group, providing mentorship as required

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in at least one of Architecture, Planning, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Systems Engineering, or Building Sustainability.
  • LEED AP with specialty in good standing (BD+C preferred, in addition, O+M or ID+C an asset)
  • WELL AP, Passive House, Envision an asset
  • Experience with corporate sustainability reporting and life-cycle assessment an asset
  • Proven experience (4+ years) providing technical leadership and service delivery in sustainability consulting
  • Familiarity and knowledge of energy efficient and low-carbon technologies and strategies
  • Previous design, construction or project management experience on new construction projects with important sustainability targets an asset
  • Proven experience working with and managing the interaction between design teams and sustainability
  • Thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
